It is extremely rare to find someone who is not only talented in what they do, but also happens to be a genuinely nice person. Ben is that someone and we were lucky enough to have him shoot at our wedding. From our initial meeting, we were impressed not only by his keen eye, but by his gentle demeanour and personable nature. On the day, Ben managed to capture so many precious moments, whilst remaining professional, calm and discreet, and we have a beautiful momento of carefully composed and candid shots that we shall treasure forever. For us, having the right photographer to record such a momentous day in our lives was as important as the venue itself…. We could not think of entrusting this responsibility to anyone else.

Ben took the photographs at our wedding last year and did a fantastic job. We couldn’t be more pleased with the images he captured – every time I look at them, they make me smile. If I’d known how great the pictures were going to be, I would have definitely had him stay for the whole day and not just the afternoon bit.

Calmness and professionalism define Ben’s approach to photography. He was recommended to us as a wedding photographer back in 2004 and he didn’t disappoint, providing terrific photos at a competitive price. He thinks hard about what the client wants, has an assured manner and an eye for great reportage shots.

Ben Joseph is an outstanding photographer. I have been in publishing for over 30 years and have worked with literally hundreds of photographers. I can safely say that no one comes close to the level of professionalism and artistry that Ben exhibits. When I founded akimbocomms.com the first call I made was to Ben. I knew that with a photographer on board of Ben’s calibre I could make my dream of a new type of advertising agency a success. I was right. Ben’s work elivated us to a new level. No one paints in light and shadow the way he does.

Ben Joseph voluntarily photographed deaf children involved in the making of the short film ‘That’s not all of me” commissioned by the Life & Deaf Association and premiered at London’s Southbank Centre. Ben’s sensitive and evocative photography was used in programmes, on the website and in promotional exhibitions. Ben maintained a quiet profile throughout the film shoot but his delicate handling of light and easy manner with the young subjects resulted in fragile, reflective portraits and an affecting record of the day’s events.

Ben captured on film our wedding day in such tasteful and inspired manner that our photo album never fails to remind us the day and impress our friends and family. He was very professional and flexible to our needs. His presence was inconspicuous and his skill lies with capturing people’s little spontaneous moments, rather than boring pre-arranged group shots. Very recommended.

Ben took beautiful photographs of our wedding. He took the time to sit down with us beforehand and discuss the type of photographs we would like. We settled on a mixture of classic shots and reportage. On the day he was very professional and obtained the required shots without being obtrusive. I have no hesitation in recommending his services to others.

Ben is a brilliant photographer with a knack for capturing those candid moments that deliver a real emotional punch. He’s experienced, professional, reliable and a mentor to many other up and coming photographers keen to mimic his art.

Ben photographed our wedding and we were really delighted with the results. He managed to get wonderful group photos of family and friends, and then caught many great spontaneous moments throughout the day. I definitely agree with what others have said about his reportage work being exceptional. He came recommended to us, and I would happily recommend him to others.

I am writing this to highly recommend Ben Joseph who recently took professional photos of me for my linked in profile and other marketing media. I am not a natural in front of a camera and felt quite daunted to start with. Ben is an amazingly patient and calm person and by the time we had finished I almost felt comfortable being photographed. In fact I can honestly say that I really enjoyed the experience of being a model for a while which is something I never thought I would say. I am very happy with the result and suggest that any person who wants to portray a professional image on-line or in print should snap up Ben’s services.

Ben’s photography is vivid and beautiful. His work is utterly distinct and stands out from both the formulaic dross of the advertising industry and even the competent, multi-coloured compositions of his contemporaries. His work can be both melancholic, pulling the viewer into the distant and reflective eyes of his subject, and joyous, when he captures a moment of delight and spontaneity. Ben is also a consummate professional. I commissioned him to photograph two major events at theUniversityofLondon. One of these was a rather static workshop, but Ben managed to wrestle from it real humour and humanity. Some of the images he produced have been used across the university. The second was an international symposium. Ben was able to photograph the energy of the event, the audience and the panel speakers, but also take entirely unique and moving portraits. These were immediately lauded by those at the symposium and presented online. Quite apart from the high-level coverage he provided of the event, several of the images are stand-alone œuvres d’art. Ben Joseph is a rare find and though this may sound like a cliché too often used in endorsements of this type, in my professional life I have never found his match.

Ben photographed our wedding in June 2008 and we could not have been happier with the results. He was professional throughout the whole process, and on the day was calm and friendly with everyone. We had many compliments from our guests and the photographs themselves were amazing and exceeded our expectations. His skill and expertise meant that we have a beautiful representation of our wedding that we truly do treasure.
Tara Johnson, Walton-on-Thames
We were delighted we used Ben for our wedding photos. We were hardly aware of his presence but captured our wedding extremely well. The black and white photos, in particular, caught the warmth and intimacy of our wedding day as well as the diverse personality of our guests. The photos are not only a wonderful reflection of a special day; they are also treasured images of friends and family who are no longer with us!

After seeing examples of Ben’s amazing work we knew we had to secure him as our wedding photographer. The photos were even better than we hoped – they were simply stunning and truly captured the essence of our day. We loved having a mix of reportage vs choreographed and B&W vs colour pictures (the Hasselblad camera produced much better pictures than those taken digitally). Ben was extremely professional, organised, well presented and was able to communicate/ direct the guests well. He is an outstanding photographer and his work has given us, our family and friends wonderful, unforgettable memories.
S Lyons, Syon House
We really wanted a photographic portfolio of our big day that was representative of who we are. We wanted it to be very natural and a reportage of our journey, beginning at home, through Syon House and to the Great Conservatory. Ben was able to offer us suggestions on how to make that happen and suggested the best narrative for our photos. When we looked through the photos post-event we hadn’t even realised that many of them had been taken. Whilst Ben has the capacity to be organised and firm where necessary, his main strength is the ability to slip into the background as if he weren’t there. A rare and appreciated quality on your wedding day. Whilst he did also capture some of the more traditional stock shots, the end results really encapsulated the essence and emotion of the day.
Kim Stoute-Purvis, Syon House
We saw the pictures at the weekend. They are fabulous, we love your approach – very special.
