St Alfeges Church, Trafalgar Tavern

St Alfeges Church, Trafalgar Tavern Wedding Photography

Here are a selection of my favourite shots from Chris & Melissa’s Greenwich wedding. The ceremony took place at St Alfeges church followed by the reception at the Trafalgar Tavern. I have been lucky enough to shoot at both venues many times before. As a wedding photographer it’s a great help if you are familiar with your shooting environment; once I start shooting my first ‘scene setters’ instincts take over and soon enough I am in the flow of the day.

We were lucky with the weather and there was a relaxed atmosphere amongst Chris and his friends as guests started to arrive. I like shooting at St Alfeges. The imposing stain glass window and the elevated organ loft allow for some great architectural shots from different angles and heights. There was a familiar nod from the vicar and I was allowed to shoot unobtrusively during the ceremony.

After the ceremony Chris and Melissa were driven to the reception in a white London cab, while family and guests walked through Greenwich to the reception venue. The event team at Greenwich Inc looked after me as always and allowed me plenty of time to shoot the couple portraits. We wandered along the river and by the Naval College, where the light was crisp and even bouncing off the river. Then plenty of reportage work and environmental portraits as the day unfolded.

It was a pleasure to photograph this wedding – I’ve even been giving Chris some photographic lessons recently which has been fun.

I hope you enjoy the images.
